What Are Dental Veneers?
If you are concerned about the aesthetics of your smile, porcelain veneers are a natural-looking, customizable treatment that can conceal cosmetic imperfections without surgery or sedation. These thin porcelain shells cover the front of your teeth and improve the appearance of chips or cracks, dental discoloration, and minor misalignment in just two appointments.
We Offer Two Types of Dental Veneers
Traditional
Dr. Pohl has placed IPS e.max® veneers for decades. Incredibly popular among cosmetic dentists, this brand of dental veneers is composed of high-quality ceramic that mirrors the shade and translucency of your surrounding teeth. IPS e.max veneers are an excellent option for minor to complex cases, and they have earned high clinical ratings and shown long-term survival rates.
Minimal-Prep
In addition to traditional veneers, we also offer minimal-prep veneers. Minimal-prep veneers enable us to transform your smile without modifying your natural teeth. These restorations are less invasive than conventional veneers, as they do not require us to remove any layers of enamel. For the right candidates, Dr. Pohl can place LUMINEERS® in only two visits without the need for temporaries.
"Professional, kind, and considerate."
I have never had anything other than a good experience when visiting their office. Everyone who works there is professional, kind, and considerate. I would recommend Dr. Pohl to anyone. He always takes the time to listen, discuss whatever issues you are having, and find a solution. He is one of the nicest people I know. Twice, I have had people visiting from out of town have dental emergencies and he and his staff have gotten them in and taken such good care of them.

My appointment was for a cleaning, X-rays and check up. Amy, my hygienist, was right on time. She ‘s really good—my teeth look so white when she’s done She’s very friendly too—remembers what her patients’interests are. As soon as Amy was finished with me, Dr. Pohl came in to do my.check up. He’s very caring, won’t hurt you and easy to talk to. Reception is very nice, friendly and helpful too. This is a great dental office!
The Treatment Process
Initial Consultation
During your initial consultation at our Fort Walton Beach, FL, practice, Dr. Pohl can review your concerns and the reasons you want to undergo treatment. To better meet your expectations, it is important to establish the ideal shape, length, and size of your veneers.
Trial Veneers
If you would like to preview your results, Dr. Pohl can place temporary veneers with trial cement.
Tooth Preparation
If you decide that traditional porcelain veneers are the right treatment for you, Dr. Pohl can prepare your teeth by removing a small layer of enamel. This ensures your veneers fit comfortably over your teeth. To minimize discomfort and help patients relax during this step, we offer nitrous oxide sedation.
Crafting Your Veneers
Dr. Pohl spends a large amount of time coordinating with an outside lab to achieve your desired results. If there is a veneer that he is not satisfied with, he will not hesitate to send it back to the lab for adjustments to ensure your complete satisfaction. Over the course of one to two weeks, skilled ceramists will create your custom restorations. In the interim, we may place temporary veneers to ensure your comfort.
Placing the Permanent Veneers
Once your dental veneers are ready, you will return to our office so that Dr. Pohl can place the final restorations. Before cementing the porcelain veneers into place, our dentist will check the fit and feel, making adjustments if necessary. Once you are completely happy with your porcelain veneers, Dr. Pohl will bond them to your teeth using a special tooth-colored dental cement.

Caring for Your Porcelain Veneers
Proper care is the key to keeping your porcelain veneers looking and feeling great. While porcelain is stain-resistant, it is important that you maintain good oral hygiene to prevent cavities and other oral health issues. Although porcelain is very strong, it can crack under abnormal amounts of pressure. To avoid damaging your porcelain veneers, do not open packages with your teeth or chew on your fingernails.
In most cases, patients who maintain good oral health and visit their dentist for preventive care frequently can enjoy their veneers for a decade or more.
Isn't Teeth Whitening a Faster, More Cost-Effective Option?
If you want to enhance your smile through dentistry, professional whitening is another popular choice. While teeth whitening is more cost-effective than porcelain veneers treatment, it can only address surface stains and minor discoloration.
Patients suffering from intrinsic stains or significant dental discoloration may be better candidates for porcelain veneers, which completely cover the tooth along with any dental imperfections.
How Much Do Veneers Cost?
Although the total cost of your treatment can vary depending on the extent of your cosmetic concerns, the materials used, and the number of veneers you receive, the average cost of a single veneer at our office is $980. If you choose six or more veneers, Dr. Pohl can apply a discount to each unit.

Financing Is Available
We understand that cosmetic veneers are more costly than other dental treatments. To help patients pay for their porcelain veneers, we gladly accept CareCredit® financing.
